There have been allegations of attacks, beatings, shoplifting and looting of goods on tenant traders at the capital’s Globe Shopping Center.
Some traders in the market have claimed that a man named Harun and his companions were involved in these incidents. They allege that the accused used the identity of Dhaka College Chhatra Dal to intimidate the traders.
The victim traders made these complaints on Thursday (October 22). They said that the attack and shop occupation have created panic and insecurity among ordinary traders in the market.
The complaining businessmen have demanded an impartial investigation into the incident and legal action against those involved. At the same time, they have sought the intervention of the concerned authorities to ensure the safety of their lives, property and businesses.
The report did not include statements from the accused, Dhaka College Chhatra Dal, or law enforcement agencies regarding the traders’ allegations. The veracity of the allegations also needs to be independently verified.
