Mir Ahmed Tariqul Omar is the new chairman of BRTC

  • Mir Ahmed Tariqul Omar, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Shipping, has been appointed as the new chairman of the Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC).

    He was appointed as the chairman of BRTC on deputation in a notification issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Thursday (October 8). At the same time, his job has been assigned to the Road Transport and Highways Department.

    According to the notification, after joining the new position, he will manage the overall activities of the organization as the chairman of BRTC.

    Meanwhile, the current chairman of BRTC, Abdul Latif Mollah, has been transferred and appointed as additional secretary of the Ministry of Textiles and Jute.

    The notification states that Abdul Latif Mollah must be released from his current job and join his new job by October 13. If he is not released within the stipulated time, he will be considered immediately released or ‘stand released’ from that day.

    With this order from the Ministry of Public Administration, the process of assuming new leadership responsibilities at the top positions of BRTC has begun.
