
The dengue situation in the country continues to deteriorate. Four more people have died of dengue fever transmitted by Aedes mosquitoes in the last 24 hours. At the same time, 1,972 new dengue patients have been admitted to various hospitals in the country.
This information was given in a dengue-related press release from the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services on Thursday.
According to the notification, the highest number of newly admitted patients in the last 24 hours is 358 in Chittagong division. Apart from this, 328 people have been admitted to the hospital in Dhaka division (outside the City Corporation), 260 in Barisal division, 256 in Khulna division, 209 in Rajshahi division, 180 in Dhaka North City Corporation, 176 in Dhaka South City Corporation, 101 in Rangpur division, 94 in Mymensingh division and 16 in Sylhet division.
The four new deaths bring the total number of dengue deaths this year to 249.
On the other hand, a total of 81,598 people have been admitted to various hospitals across the country for treatment due to dengue this year. This number has increased further due to the admission of new patients in the last 24 hours.
