The situation of dengue in the country is becoming more alarming. Two more people have died of dengue in the last 24 hours. Ninety-five new dengue patients were admitted to the hospital at the same time. The death toll from dengue has risen to 211 this year.

According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), one person died of dengue in Dhaka North and South City Corporation in the last 24 hours. At the same time, the highest number of patients were admitted to the Chittagong division.
Besides, 241 people were admitted to Dhaka division, 133 in Dhaka South City Corporation, 133 in Khulna division, 76 in Dhaka North City Corporation, 44 in Barisal, 44 in Rangpur, 37 in Mymensingh and four in Sylhet division.
102 people killed in Dhaka
According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), a total of 211 people died of dengue in the country from January 1 to September 25 this year. Of these, only 102 people, including Dhaka North and South City Corporation, have died in Dhaka division.
Besides, a dengue patient died in Khulna division, 21 in Chittagong, 20 in Mymensingh, 16 in Barisal, 10 in Rajshahi, 4 in Rangpur and one in Sylhet division.
The death toll was 114 in September.
The number of dengue deaths has been steadily increasing since the beginning of the year. Four people died in January and February. No deaths were reported in March and April. Then one died in May and 13 in June.
In July, the death toll from dengue increased to 36. Forty-three others died in August. In the first twenty-five days of September, 114 people died of dengue.
As a result, the number of dengue deaths so far in September has increased significantly compared to the entire month of August and July. At the same time, the pressure on the medical system is also increasing as new patients are admitted to the hospital every day.
