HSC and equivalent examinations to be held under the Chittagong Education Board have been postponed till July 16th due to adverse weather, torrential rains and flood situations.
Prime Minister’s adviser Mahdi Amin said this at a press conference on Saturday (July 11th) afternoon. He said the decision was taken after reviewing the situation with the deputy commissioners (DCs) to ensure the safety of the students and those involved in the examinations.
He said the prime minister is constantly monitoring the flood situation and the government is working with utmost importance to deal with the disaster. The administration has been directed to ensure speedy rescue, relief and necessary assistance from the people in the affected areas.
Mahdi Amin said different ministries are working in a coordinated manner as per the directives of the prime minister. At the same time, party leaders have also been urged to take part in relief activities to help the flood-affected people.
The decision has been taken to postpone the examinations as normal life has been disrupted due to the ongoing heavy rains and floods in Chittagong division. The revised schedule of the next examination will be announced later.
