The measles outbreak continues in the country. Seven more children have died of measles symptoms in the last 24 hours, according to the Directorate General of Health Services.
A statement from the Directorate General of Health Services released on Sunday said that a total of 738 people have died from measles and measles symptoms since March 15 this year. Of these, 93 people died from measles confirmed by tests and 645 people died with measles symptoms.
At the same time, 106 new cases of measles have been detected in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country since March 15 to 12,632.
In addition, 925 more suspected measles patients have been identified in the last 24 hours. The total number of suspected measles patients has reached 1 lakh 5 thousand 618 so far.
The Department of Health has urged the public to ensure that their children are vaccinated against measles on time and to contact the nearest health center immediately if they develop fever, rash, or symptoms of measles.
