Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has been summoned to the capital Tehran to bid farewell to the country’s supreme leader. Thousands of people stayed outside the prayer hall before the start of the government programme.
A lot of people were hoping to open the door at night. They waited for hours. More than a million people are expected to participate in the funeral.
“We came out of our love for our leader. This is as painful as it is, as is sweet to us.”
Many of the participants said that it is not a matter of hours than the contribution of Khamenei to the country.
University student Fatemeh said, “There should be no shortage of goodbye to him.”
Another student, Mahdi, said, “There is nothing to wait for 10 to twelve hours. It’s like I’m attending a funeral of a family member.”
People from all over the country came to Tehran to pay their last respects to Khamenei. Additional security measures have been taken in different areas of the capital to ensure security.
