Prime Minister Tarique Rahman expressed his gratitude for the sincere reception and hospitality of the Malaysian government.
In a message to the Prime Minister, who is currently on a visit to China after a nearly eighteen-hour short but important official visit, thanking Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, his family and the people of the country.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs released the message of the Prime Minister on Tuesday (June 23rd).
He and his wife, Dr. Zubaida Rahman is the Prime Minister of Malaysia Anwar Ibrahim and his wife Dr. One Aziza Binti was deeply overwhelmed by the warm welcome and sincere hospitality of One Ismail. He also expressed his gratitude to the friendly treatment of the Malaysian government and the people.
Tarique Rahman mentioned that the meeting with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has further strengthened the longstanding friendly relations between the two countries. He said Malaysia’s relationship with Bangladesh is centuries old, which has been continuously developed since the time of martyred President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.
The Prime Minister thanked Malaysian King Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Sultan Ibni for having the opportunity to meet Iskander. He said the meeting would further strengthen the foundations of mutual trust and cooperation between the two countries.
The need to strengthen bilateral relations
In the message, the prime minister said Bangladesh attaches great importance to bilateral and multilateral relations with Malaysia. The close connectivity, labour market, education, trade and cultural relations between the people of the two countries are creating new possibilities for future cooperation.
He also said he hoped to work closely with Anwar Ibrahim to further and strengthen multi-dimensional partnerships with Malaysia after his first state visit as prime minister.
