CNN has released a four-point draft of a possible historic memorandum of understanding between Iran and the United States amid the ongoing conflict and tensions in the Middle East. The draft highlights the importance of the ceasefire, regional stability, the re-normalization of shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, the lifting of sanctions on Iran, and the nuclear program.
According to CNN, they have verified a draft copy of the MoU (MoU) from a U.S. official. Several diplomatic sources involved in the discussion also confirmed the authenticity of the document. The White House said the leaked document was not a complete reflection of the final agreement.
According to the draft, US President Donald Trump, Vice President J.D. Vance and Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bager Ghalibaf have signed a memorandum of understanding digitally. Sixty-day negotiations for the final agreement will begin after the official signing of Switzerland on Friday.
The important aspects of the contract
1. The Islamic Republic of Iran and its allies involved in the current war and the current war will announce the immediate and end of the war on all fronts, including Lebanon, with the signing of the memorandum of understanding. The two sides will not take any hostile action against each other and refrain from using force or threat of use of force.
2. Iran and the United States will respect each other’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and refrain from interfering in each other’s internal affairs.
3. The two countries will hold talks to reach a final agreement in sixty days. This time can be extended with mutual consent.
4. With the signing of the MoU, the United States will lift the naval blockade and stop any interfering or interfering against Iran. Ships will be restored to war within a maximum of thirty days. The United States will withdraw its forces from the surrounding area within thirty days of the final agreement.
5. Soon after the signing of the memorandum of understanding, Iran will take steps to normalize commercial shipping from the Persian Gulf to the Sea of Oman. In this case, the issue of removing technical obstacles and the removal of mines will be taken into account.
6. The United States and its regional partners will adopt a coordinated plan for Iran’s rehabilitation and economic development financing at least $300 billion. The implementation process will be completed in sixty days.
7. The United States will lift all current sanctions on Iran as part of the final agreement. This will include proposals from the UN Security Council, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Board of Governors, and the U.S. unilateral and secondary sanctions.
8. Iran has reiterated that it will never develop nuclear weapons. Other issues related to enriched uranium and nuclear programs will be resolved in the final agreement.
9. The two sides will continue to maintain the current status until the final agreement is reached. Iran will maintain the current state of its nuclear program and the United States will not impose new sanctions or increase military power in the region.
10. Soon after the signing of the MoU, the U.S. Treasury Department will approve the export of crude oil, petrochemical products and related services to Iran. This will include banking, insurance and transport sectors.
11. The talks will allow Iran to be allowed to use it on the basis of progress. The money can be used in any final payment set by the central bank of Iran. All necessary permits and licenses will be provided by the United States.
12. An implementation framework will be formed to ensure the successful implementation of the final agreement and oversee the future commitments.
13. After the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and the implementation of Articles 4, 5, 10 and 11, will begin the final agreement on the remaining clauses.
14. The final agreement will be approved by the United Nations Security Council.
