The outbreak of measles in the country is still at an alarming level. Eight more children have died of measles in the last twenty-four hours.
At the same time, 945 new suspected measles patients have been identified and 94 have been confirmed to have measles.
According to the latest data released from the control room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Wednesday, a total of 82 thousand suspected measles cases were detected in the country from March 15 to June 10. During this period, nine thousand 927 people have been identified by testing.
According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), 66 thousand people have been hospitalized with suspected measles in the last three months. Sixty-three thousand 145 people have recovered and returned home after treatment.
Eight children have died of measles in the last 24 hours. As a result, the total number of suspected measles from March 15 to June 10 stood at 547. However, there have been no confirmed deaths in the last twenty-four hours. A total of ninety-two deaths have been reported so far.
Public health experts say it is important to strengthen vaccination programs to control the infection, speedy detection of diseases and ensure proper treatment of infected children. Parents are urged to be more aware of children, especially in the treatment of measles-rubella (MR).
