An important meeting on the ‘Work Stage-based Climate Message and World Environment Day Programme’ was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
The meeting was held at the Prime Minister’s Office in the capital’s Tejgaon area on Saturday on the successful implementation of the tree plantation programme, environmental protection and climate awareness.
Prime Minister’s Deputy Press Secretary Zahidul Islam Rony told reporters that the meeting reviewed the progress of various programmes on the occasion of World Environment Day.
The meeting stressed the need for protecting the environment, combating the adverse effects of climate change and further speeding up tree plantation activities across the country. At the same time, there was an exchange of views on making eco-friendly initiatives more effective by ensuring the participation of the people.
Senior officials of the concerned ministries and departments were present at the meeting.
